Health & Wellbeing
Since 2018, women’s emotional and physical health and wellbeing has been core to our work — safeguarding mental, physical and emotional wellbeing for racialized, migrant and marginalized women.
We take a holistic, salutogenic approach to health: instead of only asking what makes people sick, we ask what keeps women mentally, physically and emotionally healthy — and build from there. That means addressing health promotion, socio-economic justice and culturally competent care together, because they’re inseparable in practice.
94.5% of our team shares the lived experience of the communities we serve. That shapes how we work: active listening, co-created solutions, and community voices in every decision-making space — not health programming designed for people, but with them.
We believe every woman, regardless of race, religion, disability, age, nationality or sexual orientation, deserves equal access to the support and opportunity to thrive. To date, we’ve directly equipped nearly 4,000 women with tools to safeguard their health, secure financial stability and build supportive community — with tens of thousands more reached indirectly. Our mentorship and entrepreneurial programmes report 93% and 86% success rates respectively.
Women’s well-being is impossible without financial security and the ability to care for themselves and their families. It’s also hard to feel well while navigating racism, Islamophobia, ableism, misogynoir, homophobia, and more.
Our approach to Health & Wellbeing
- Expand culturally and community-driven health programmes that support mental and physical well-being.
- Advance socio-economic justice through job creation, mentorship, entrepreneurship, financial literacy and leadership initiatives.
- Co-create equitable health resources using an intersectional lens — recognizing how overlapping identities like gender, race and religion shape both health outcomes and access to care.
