A reading and creative expression club for young people in Oslo.
Bouklub is a book club with a twist, for young people aged 13–19 in Oslo. We read together, discuss and reflect on what was read, and turn our ideas into something creative: writing, art, music, spoken word, performance, or whatever form feels right. A space for young people to read, think, and create — together.

About
Bouklub runs from September to February, with sessions every month. All sessions are open to drop-ins, and there's a core group who come regularly and help shape what we read and make.
At the end of the year, the group puts together a youth-led zine featuring writing, art and reflections from the group, and celebrates everyone's work at a community showcase open to friends and family.

Three kinds of sessions, every month.
Shared Reading & Reflection
We explore a text together — stories, poems, graphic novels, essays. Themes might be identity, belonging, migration, friendship, or finding your voice. Participants help choose what's read.
Creative Response
Turn what you read and felt into something of your own: writing, visual art, music, movement, film. Sessions are led by invited artists and creatives ("Creative Guides").
Creative Expression Showcase
An informal, low-pressure space to share what you made, if you want to. Sharing is always optional.
Open to all young people aged 13–19 in Oslo, especially: young people from low-income households; young people with immigrant or minority backgrounds; young people with disabilities; young people not currently in organised leisure activities; gender-diverse young people looking for a welcoming space. You don't need to have read a book in years, or think of yourself as "creative" or "a reader." You just need to show up.
